Ingredients
- 2 tbsp. salad oil
- 5 sm. onions, sliced
- 3 tbsp. soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1 1/2 lbs. grnd beef
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- Dash of garlic pwdr
- 1 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 c. water
Directions
- In salad oil in medium skillet over medium heat, cook onions 2 min, stirring occasionally. Add in 1 1/2 c. water, soy sauce, and sugar. Bring to boil. Cook over medium heat 10 min or possibly till onions are tender. Dissolve cornstarch in 1/4 c. water, slowly stir into onions till sauce thickens. Set aside and keep hot.
- In medium bowl, mix grnd beef with salt and pepper. Shape into 4 or possibly 5 patties. Fry or possibly broil to desired doneness. Arrange patties on heated platter, then spoon on the onion sauce. Serve warm. Serves 4.
