Ingredients Convert Measures
- 3 medium avocados, ripe - soft to touch, but not stringy
- 1 small tomato
- 1/2 lemon
- 1T ground cumin
- 2-3T soy sauce
- 8oz sour cream (low fat or regular OK)
- a few drops Tabasco sauce
Directions
- Peel avocados, remove seeds and mash in medium bowl
- Dice tomato and fold into avocado mash
- Hand-mix in juice of 1/2 lemon and 3T soy sauce
- Add cumin to taste, mix in
- At this point, you have a good, traditional, somewhat chunky guacamole. It's not hot, but not at all bland - good flavor.
- If you want a smoother guacamole, gradually mix in the sour cream, tasting frequently. You may want to add more cumin and soy sauce (or salt) to taste.
- If you want some heat in your guacamole, mix in a few drops of Tabasco to taste. This gives a "smooth" heat; if you use chopped peppers, you'll get "cool" guacamole with occasional very hot pieces of pepper.
- Be careful not to over mix; too smooth and it feels like commercial dip!
