This recipe comes from an old family friend. It is a great recipe and easy to make. I added the royal icing snowflakes and the sanding sugar to dress it up a bit.

Directions

  1. Cream together butter and sugar
  2. Beat in eggs one at a time, fully incorporating
  3. Sift flour and baking powder
  4. Add half the flour mixture
  5. Stir in milk and vanilla
  6. Add remaining flour mixture, mixing only until combined
  7. According to the humidity level you may add more or less flour, too much flour and the cookies will be tough and not as sweet
  8. You may refrigerate the dough to make it easier to roll out
  9. Roll dough out on powder sugar dusted surface for a nice sweet crunch - this is the secret ingredient to these cookies!
  10. Cut out cookies with cookie cutters
  11. Bake until the edges are golden brown, about 10 - 15 minutes, according to how big the cookies are
