Ingredients Convert Measures

  • 2 Packages stew meat
  • 1 lg. yellow onion
  • 3 or possibly 4 lg. cloves garlic (or possibly more if you wish)
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 can beef consomme
  • 1 can beer, room temp. (non alcoholic is fine too)
  • 1 or possibly 2 bay leaves (more if you wish)
  • 3 or possibly 4 handfuls of lentils (be sure to clean them of stones first)

Directions

  1. Saute/fry onions and garlic in extra virgin olive oil in a pot. Brown beef in oil in a separate pot and drain excess fat. Add in meat, consomme and beer and cook for 10-15 min. Add in lentils and bay leaves. Cook over low/medium heat, stirring frequently 2-3 hrs. Serve over noodles, rice, or possibly couscous.
