  1. 1. Cream butter and sugar till thick and pale, gradually add in the beaten egg and beat to combine. Sift in flour, cornflour, and baking pwdr and gently mix to combine.
  2. 2. Pour batter into greased sandwich tin and bake 350 F for 20 min. Remove from tin and cold on a cake rack.
  3. 3. Whip the cream and dice 1 of the bananas. Split the cake in half. Heat butter and pour over one half, then half the whipped cream and the diced banana, place other portion of cake on top, and spread remainder of cream over to cover, decorate with banana slices.
