About me

I grew up in Ohio, lived in France, California, and Japan. I like to cook, but as many have had little time of late. I find good quality food prepared simply can exentuate flavors. When that dish is matched with a good wine, all is well.

Cooking Influences

Growing up, there was a lot of home cooking with vegetables from the garden and the farmers' market. For the midwest, I was lucky to have a mother with many friends, many recipes, and a talent for good food. I was able to enjoy Chinese, German, American, Hungarian, and a variety of other cuisine. I spent time in Le Bretagne which is renowned for its crepes, butter, cidre, galettes, and more. Japan is a land for those who love food. I have been most influenced by time in Japan through exposure. The Japanese work hard to perfect every type of cooking and have so many varieties of their own. I have learned more about food combination and how the unexpected can come together. I am still finding new tastes that I never knew.
