Two of my favorite flavors this time of year are peppermint and chocolate and I cannot get enough of the Peppermint Mocha Latte that Starbucks serves up this time of year. Seriously, every day I would go if I could (and often do). For those of you who love those two flavors combined, but perhaps do not want coffee as part of your drink, here is an easy delicious recipe that you can make at home for the whole family to enjoy

Ingredients

  • 4 cups milk
  • 3 (1 ounce) squares semi sweetened chocolate, chopped
  • 2 peppermint small candy canes, crushed (about 2 tablespoons)
  • 1 cup whipped cream

Directions

  1. In saucepan heat milk until hot, but do not boil. Whisk in the chopped chocolate and the crushed peppermint candies until they are melted and the mixture is smooth. Pour the hot chocolate into four mugs and garnish with whipped cream. Serves 4.
