Servings: 12
Ingredients
- 14 ounce. caramels
- 1/3 c. lowfat milk
- 2 c. Bisquick
- 2 c. oatmeal (oats)
- 1 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 c. butter, melted
- 6 ounce. chocolate chips
- 1 c. minced nuts
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In top of double boiler, heat caramels with lowfat milk till smooth.
- Meanwhile, mix Bisquick, oatmeal, sugar and butter till crumbly. Press one half into 13"x9" pan. Bake 10 min. Remove from oven. Spread caramel mix over, sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts. Place remaining crumb mix on top. Press it down gently. Return it to the oven and bake 15 to 20 min. Loosen edges immediately. Cold 1 hour and cut into 1" squares.
- After 15 to 20 min, loosen edges again. Once caramel sets it is hard to get out of pan. Don't be tempted to cut into larger squares for these are very rich.
