  • 3 1/2-4 c. unsifted all-purpose flour, divided
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. lowfat milk
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. softened butter
  • 3 Large eggs, room temperature

Directions

  1. Thoroughly mix 1 1/4 c. flour, the sugar, salt, and undissolved yeast in a large bowl. Combine lowfat milk, water and butter in a saucepan - heat over low heat till liquids are hot. Add in to dry ingredients and beat 2 min (medium speed) with electric mixer. Add in Large eggs and 1 c. flour to make a thick batter. Beat at high speed for 2 min, then stir in sufficient flour to make a stiff batter.
  2. COVER - let rise 1 hour. Stir batter down and beat well. Then place into a greased 9 inch tube pan or possibly Bundt pan. COVER - let rise 1 hour. Bake at 325 degrees for 45-50 min, remove from pan and cold on wire rack.
