Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. lean-type pork edged with 1/2 inch fat (pork steak or possibly pork chops)
  • 2 tbsp. minced garlic
  • 6 tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Dash of monosodium glutamate
  • Dash of black pepper
  • 2 bay leaves or possibly 2 tbsp. soy sauce
  • Water to cover pork

Directions

  1. Clean and slice pork into bite-size pcs. Put pork in fry pan and add in garlic, vinegar, salt, monosodium glutamate, black pepper and bay leaves. Mix thoroughly and add in sufficient water to cover meat. Simmer till all water has evaporated. Fry meat till brown on both sides, adding a little fat, if necessary. Serve warm. Makes 4-6 servings.
  2. If soy sauce is added to mix, omit bay leaves and salt.
