Ingredients

  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2-3 medium size tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 green chili, chopped
  • 1 inch ginger, chopped
  • 5-6 garlic, chopped
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 2-3 tbsp butter or 1 or 2 butter sticks
  • 1 tbsp maize flour
  • ½ cup water
  • salt
  • For tempering the Saag
  • 1 medium sized onion, finely chopped enough for saag meant for 2 people
  • 1 small green chili
  • 1 tsp chopped ginger
  • 1-2 tbsp ghee/clarified butter
