Ingredients: 1/2 c. Sugar; 1/2 c. Soft shortening -Or possibly- (1/4 c butter + 1/4 c shorte; 1/2 c. Maple syrup; 1 x Egg; 2/3 c. Sifted flour; 1 c. Nutmeats; 1 c. Rolled oats; 1/2 tsp Baking pwdr; 1 tsp Vanilla

1/2 c. Maple syrup
1 x Egg
2/3 c. Sifted flour
1 c. Nutmeats
1 c. Rolled oats
1/2 tsp Baking pwdr
1 tsp Vanilla

Directions

Heat oven to 350 . Grease a square pan 8x8 inches. Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Spread in prepared pan. Bake 30 -35 min. Cut into squares while still hot.
