  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 1 T sugar
  • 2 beaten egg yolks
  • 1 1/4 c. lowfat milk
  • 2 T oil
  • 2 apples, pared & cored
  • 2 stiffly beaten egg whites
  • Apple-Cinnamon Sauce
  • 1 (10 ounce) jar apple jelly
  • 2 T red cinnamon candies
  • 1/4 c. water

Directions

  1. Stir together flour, baking pwdr, salt and sugar. Put together egg yolks, lowfat milk and oil. Add in to dry ingredients; mix well. Shred apples and add in to batter. Mix in egg whites. Bake in hot waffle iron. Makes 4 cups batter. Waffles may be baked ahead, frzn and reheated in toasted. Serve with Apple-Cinnamon Sauce.
  2. Heat together in a small saucepan. Stir till candies dissolve jelly melts. Cool; pour into bowl.
