Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 c. lowfat milk
  • 1/4 c. vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr

Directions

  1. In a bowl, blend the above ingredients to make a thin fritter batter. Beat till smooth. Set aside.
  2. Slice onions into rings and separate to dry. Coat with flour mix.Grease should be only 1 inch deep in pan, just sufficient to float food.
  3. When grease is hot (375°F) dip dry onions into fritter batter and let excess drip off. Fry till golden. Remove and place on a plate which is covered with a paper towel to soak up excess grease.
  4. These are really good, allow 1/2 onion per person.
