Festive Honey Fruit Bars Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. oleo softened
  • 1/3 c. honey
  • 2 x Large eggs beaten
  • 2/3 c. flour sifted
  • 1/2 tsp baking pwdr
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 c. walnuts minced
  • 1/4 c. raisins
  • 1 c. dates minced
  • 1/2 c. cherries minced (candied or possibly liquid removed maraschino) powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Grease and flour 8" square baking pan. In a medium sized bowl, beat oleo and honey till well mixed; beat in Large eggs. In a small bowl, mix flour, baking pwdr and salt; add in to creamed mix, mixing till well blended. Stir in nuts and fruit. Pour into prepared pan. Bake in preheated oven 35 to 45 min or possibly till a wooden pick inserted into center comes out clean. Cold in pan on a wire rack. Cut into 20 bars. Sprinkle lightly with powdered sugar and remove from pan. Store tightly covered.
  2. NOTE: these are keepers
  3. Bars will mellow and develop flavor after 1 day. makes 20 bars.
