Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups (275g) unsalted butter or margarine
- 2 1/2 cups (500g) sugar
- 1 1/2 cups (180g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup (125g) flour
- Semisweet chocolate for melting (about 1 pound to cover them all completely)
- White writing icing or white chocolate to melt
- Thin pretzel sticks

.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20idea%20is%20fairly%20simple%20-%20a%20brownie%20square%20with%20the%20ends%20trimmed%20off,%20a%20pretzel%20stick%20handle%20and%20some%20icing%20letters.%20For%20the%20most%20sophisticated%20look,%20you%20can%20dip%20all%20the%20dreidels%20completely%20in%20chocolate%20before%20pipping%20on%20the%20letters,%20or%20just%20coat%20one%20side,%20or%20leave%20the%20brownies%20au%20naturel.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20can%20use%20any%20brownie%20recipe%20you%20like,%20including%20a%20box%20mix,%20but%20I%20chose%20this%20particular%20recipe%20because%20it%20is%20fudgy%20and%20dense%20and%20sturdy%20enough%20to%20stand%20up%20to%20the%20dipping%20and%20pretzel%20handle.%20It%20is%20also%20delicious.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBrownies:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMelt%20the%20butter,%20sugar%20and%20cocoa%20powder%20together%20in%20a%20large%20bowl.%20Stir%20together%20until%20smooth%20-%20the%20mixture%20will%20appear%20grainy,%20don't%20worry%20about%20that.%20Add%20the%20salt%20and%20vanilla%20and%20stir%20to%20mix.%20Add%20in%20the%20eggs,%20one%20at%20a%20time,%20and%20mix%20until%20well%20combined.%20Stir%20in%20the%20flour%20until%20just%20mixed.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20the%20mixture%20into%20a%20parchment%20paper-lined%209x13%22%20pan.%20Bake%20on%20325%20F%20for%2030-35%20minutes%20or%20until%20a%20toothpick%20inserted%20comes%20out%20clean.%20Let%20cool%20completely.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELift%20the%20parchment%20paper%20out%20of%20the%20pan%20and%20slice%20the%20brownies%20into%20strips%20lengthways%20about%201%22%20thick.%20Cut%20those%20strips%20into%20rectangles%20about%201%201/2%22%20long.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECarefully%20trim%20off%20the%20bottom%20corners%20of%20each%20rectangle%20to%20create%20the%20dreidel%20shape.%20Stick%20the%20pretzel%20sticks%20(you%20may%20want%20to%20snap%20them%20in%20half%20depending%20on%20length)%20into%20the%20flat%20ends%20of%20the%20dreidels.%20Melt%20the%20chocolate%20(only%20a%20portion%20at%20a%20time)%20and%20dip%20the%20dreidels%20into%20them.%20Let%20any%20excess%20drip%20off%20and%20lay%20them%20flat%20on%20a%20piece%20of%20parchment%20paper.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20the%20chocolate%20is%20completely%20dry%20use%20the%20icing%20or%20melted%20white%20chocolate%20(can%20melt%20right%20in%20a%20ziploc%20bag%20and%20cut%20the%20corner%20off)%20to%20pipe%20on%20the%20letters.%20Let%20dry%20completely,%20then%20eat!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
