Ingredients

  1. Cream butter and sugar till light and fluffy. Beat in egg yolks all at once. Add in vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together. Set aside 1 c. of the dry ingredients. Add in the remaining flour mix and the lowfat milk in small portions, alternately, mixing well with each addition, starting and ending with an addition of the dry ingredients.
  2. Mix together, the reserved flour and the nuts, and stir into the batter, mixing just till blended. Beat the egg whites till stiff, but not dry.
  3. Fold them into the batter.
  4. Bake in a 9 X 5 X 3" greased and floured loaf pan, or possibly 3 qt mold at 350 degrees about 50 to 60 min, or possibly till done.
  5. Frost with your favorite icing.
