Directions

  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Grease 9" square pan.
  2. Mix baking mix, 2/3 c. lowfat milk, egg and white sugar; beat vigorously 30 seconds. Spread in pan.
  3. Mix walnuts, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in small bowl; sprinkle over batter.
  4. Spoon applesauce over walnut mix.
  5. Bake till wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, about 25 min. Cold 30 min.
  6. Meanwhile, heat 2 Tbsp. margarine in 1 qt saucepan over low heat till golden; remove from heat.
  7. Fold in powdered sugar and vanilla.
  8. Stir in mix till smooth and of desired consistency.
  9. Drizzle over coffee cake.
