Sweet or Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

This dough can be made into cinnamon rolls or sweet rolls. I always at least double this recipe. A double batch will make approximately 3 dozen rolls, depending on how big you make your rolls.

Directions

  1. Scald milk; add shortening and let cool to lukewarm.
  2. Add sugar.
  3. Dissolve yeast in warm water and let set till bubbly.
  4. Combine lukewarm milk with salt, water, eggs and about 2 c of the flour.
  5. Mix.
  6. Add yeast.
  7. Add rest of flour and knead to smooth dough.
  8. Let rise in warm place till double.
  9. Punch down and let rise again.
  10. Roll out and make sweet or cinnamon rolls and let rise until very light (2-3 hours) on greased pans, covered.
  11. Bake at 374 for 12 min.
  12. Frost with cream cheese frosting hot or when slightly cool.
