%20are%20simple:%20%20Tell%20seven%20things%20about%20yourself%20and%20then%20pass%20the%20award%20on%20to%20other%20beautiful%20bloggers.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20has%20actually%20been%20sitting%20in%20my%20mental%20in-box%20for%20a%20bit....%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESeven%20things?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20assume%20they%20should%20be%20somewhat%20interesting....%20not%20stuff%20like%20what%20I%20had%20for%20breakfast.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI've%20been%20feeling%20very%20boring%20lately.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENo,%20not%20bored;%20boring.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHere%20goes:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESeven%20Scintillating%20Snippets%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20I%20like%20words....%20playing%20with%20them,%20reading%20them,%20writing%20them,%20learning%20about%20them.%20%20I'm%20a%20word%20nerd.%20%20I'm%20rather%20fond%20of%20punctuation,%20too.%20%20I%20love%20alliteration%20-%20but%20the%20person%20who%20named%20their%20restaurant%20the%20'Koffee%20Kup%20Kafe'%20should%20have%20their%20license%20to%20speak%20revoked.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20I%20don't%20use%20electric%20kitchen%20toys.%20%20I%20have%20a%20food%20processor%20that%20I've%20used%20once.%20%20It%20was%20fun,%20but%20a%20sharp%20knife%20works%20as%20well%20and%20is%20much%20easier%20to%20clean.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.%20I'm%20very%20squeamish.%20%20I%20can't%20bring%20myself%20to%20gut%20a%20fish%20-%20but,%20if%20you%20forced%20me,%20once%20I%20made%20the%20first%20cut%20I'd%20be%20just%20fine.%20%20It's%20the%20'thinking'%20more%20than%20the%20'doing'%20that%20bothers%20me.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4.%20Some%20have%20said%20that%20I%20think%20too%20much.%20%20Now,%20we%20all%20know%20that's%20an%20impossibility,%20but%20my%20mind%20has%20been%20known%20to%20ramble%20down%20the%20road%20less%20traveled%20more%20often%20than%20most.%20%20I%20like%20to%20think%20it%20makes%20me%20interesting%20or%20eccentric.%20%20I%20think%20using%20the%20adjective%20'weird'%20was%20rude.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E5.%20I%20was%20told%2010%20years%20ago%20that%20I%20should%20wear%20glasses.%20%20I%20bought%20them.%20%20I%20rarely%20wear%20them.%20%20I%20do%20eye%20exercises%20instead%20and%20am%20determined%20to%20not%20ever%20need%20them.%20(I%20wear%20the%20driving%20glasses%20on%20rainy%20nights%20-%20I'm%20not%20foolish.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E6.%20I%20try%20not%20to%20wear%20synthetic%20fabrics%20or%20synthetic%20jewelry.%20%20Nothing%20has%20to%20be%20expensive,%20just%20natural.%20%20I%20don't%20care%20what%20other%20people%20do,%20just%20personal%20preference.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E7.%20I%20started%20smoking%20in%20college%20as%20a%20way%20to%20stay%20awake%20during%20class.%20%20A%20quiet%20room%20with%20a%20quiet%20speaker%20is%20nap-time%20for%20me.%20%20I%20ate%20candy%20in%20church.%20%20I%20did%20get%20really%20good%20at%20hiding%20the,%20inevitable%20'nod-jerk'%20sequence.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20the%20difficult%20part%20-%20passing%20it%20on....%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EZoomie%20Station%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBlog%20from%20OUR%20kitchen%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETaste%20of%20Beirut%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEats%20Well%20with%20Others%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20Upon%20a%20Feast%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20Kitchen%20in%20Half%20Cups%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELiving%20in%20the%20Kitchen%20with%20Puppies%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMele%20Cotte%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENever%20one%20to%20practice%20restraint%20when%20it%20comes%20to%20my%20favorite%20things....%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHere's%20my%20new%20favorite:%20(Sorry,%20Elizabeth)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20Polenta:%20Heat%20chicken%20stock%20in%20a%20small%20saucepan%20until%20simmering.%20Add%20polenta,%20stirring%20constantly%20until%20thick,%20about%205%20minutes.%20Remove%20from%20heat,%20stir%20in%20chives%20and%20cover%20to%20keep%20warm.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20Vegetables:%20Trim%20green%20garlic%20and%20slice,%20using%20as%20much%20of%20the%20green%20tops%20as%20reasonable.%20Trim%20and%20roll-cut%20the%20asparagus%20into%201%22%20(2.5cm)%20lengths.%20Heat%202%20tsp%20olive%20oil%20in%20a%20medium%20skillet.%20Add%20the%20green%20garlic,%20asparagus%20and%20stir-fry%20until%20crisp-tender.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20Eggs:%20Fill%20a%20medium%20skillet%20with%20water.%20The%20water%20should%20be%20at%20least%201%201/2%20inches%20deep.%20Heat%20water%20over%20medium-high%20heat.%20Add%20vinegar.%20When%20water%20is%20softly%20boiling%20poach%20eggs:%20one%20at%20a%20time%20break%20egg%20into%20a%20small%20saucer.%20Swirl%20a%20spoon%20in%20the%20water%20where%20you%20will%20put%20the%20egg%20-%20off%20to%20one%20side.%20When%20water%20is%20swirling%20drop%20egg%20into%20center.%20With%20slotted%20spoon%20try%20to%20keep%20the%20white%20together.%20Do%20next%20egg.%20With%20regular%20spoon%20scoop%20some%20hot%20water%20over%20tops%20of%20eggs.%20Poach%20for%202%20-%204%20minutes%20or%20until%20white%20is%20set%20but%20yolk%20is%20still%20very%20soft.%20(Or%20hard,%20as%20you%20like...)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20Finish:%20Spoon%20polenta%20on%20to%202%20plates,%20spreading%20it%20out%20into%20a%20circle.%20%20Top%20with%20a%20poached%20egg.%20%20Spoon%20asparagus%20and%20green%20garlic%20around%20the%20egg,%20drizzle%20with%20truffle%20
