%20months!%20%20It%20is%20a%20bit%20surreal,%20really.%20%20Even%20though%20I%20am%20still%20getting%20my%20bearings%20and%20have%20not%20ventured%20much%20outside%20the%20South%20Bay,%20I%20love%20it.%20I%20believe%20moving%20here%20is%20one%20of%20my%20best%20decisions%20and%20look%20forward%20to%20things%20to%20come.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20job%20rocks,%20too.%20%20For%20me,%20the%20honeymoon%20usually%20ends%20about%20three%20(3)%20months%20in%20anything%20I%20do.%20%20Not%20this%20time.%20%20Like%20my%20last%20%E2%80%9Ctrainer%E2%80%9D%20position%20I%20held%20several%20years%20back,%20I%20love%20what%20I%20do.%20I%20am%20positively%20challenged%20everyday.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOne%20interesting%20aspect%20of%20my%20new%20job%20is%20the%20celebration%20of%20others.%20I%20know%20that%20sounds%20weird%20to%20say.%20%20However,%20the%20overall%20appreciation%20of%20the%20people%20in%20my%20department,%20from%20executive%20assistants%20to%20Directors%20to%20Chiefs,%20is%20like%20I%20have%20never%20experienced.%20Now,%20I%20am%20not%20naive.%20%20Not%20everyone%20is%20fabulous%20to%20work%20with.%20%20But,%20we%20are%20all%20treated%20like%20professionals%20and%20that%20is%20a%20refreshing%20culture%20that%20I%20have%20missed.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBirthdays%20are%20included%20with%20the%20list%20of%20office%20celebrations.%20%20My%20boss%20had%20his%20last%20week.%20His%20Assistant%20planned%20a%20%E2%80%9Czen%E2%80%9D%20birthday%20in%20honor%20of%20his%20new%20love%20for%20yoga%20and%20I%20was%20responsible%20of%20the%20desserts.%20Surprise,%20surprise!%20Right?%20%20Ha!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20addition%20to%20cupcakes,%20hibiscus%20spiced%20almonds%20(made%20like%20my%20tea%20spiced%20pecans),%20and%20(for%20those%20celebrating%20Passover)%20a%20version%20of%20Martha%20Stewart%E2%80%99s%20chocolate,%20nut,%20and%20dried%20fruit%20matzo,%20I%20included%20Chai%20shortbread%20biscuits.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEveryone%20loved%20them!%20%20Of%20course,%20I%20didn%E2%80%99t%20write%20down%20the%20recipe%20so%20I%20have%20to%20bake%20them%20again%20to%20duplicate%20their%20deliciousness.%20Have%20you%20ever%20done%20that,%20thrown%20something%20together%20that%20everyone%20raved%20over?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBefore%20figuring%20out%20what%20I%20did%20for%20the%20biscuits,%20though,%20I%20wanted%20to%20use%20the%20matcha%20powder%20I%20had%20been%20given.%20%20I%20turned%20to%20this%20lovely%20swiss%20roll%20recipe%20I%20found%20on%20The%20Little%20Epicurean.%20She%20filled%20the%20cake%20with%20a%20lovely%20looking%20strawberry%20mousse.%20%20But,%20I%20made%20a%20simple%20sweetened%20cream.%20(Recipe%20below.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20am%20so%20excited%20about%20the%20cake.%20%20Roll%20cakes%20are%20not%20my%20thing;%20I%20stay%20clear%20of%20them,%20really.%20%20In%20fact,%20I%20believe%20the%20last%20one%20I%20attempted%20was%20in%20%E2%80%9909!%20This%20cake%20may%20be%20the%20treat%20that%20convinces%20me%20to%20make%20another%20roll%20cake%20before%20five%20(5)%20years%20pass.%20It%20is%20so%20light%20and%20has%20a%20present,%20yet%20subtle,%20green%20tea%20taste.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EChai%20biscuits,%20Matcha%20cake%E2%80%A6I%20think%20I%20am%20onto%20a%20new%20avenue%20of%20flavors%20in%20my%20baking!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20the%20cream%20into%20a%20chilled%20bowl%20of%20a%20mixer%20fitted%20with%20a%20whisk%20attachment.%20Whip%20until%20the%20cream%20to%20soft%20peaks.%20%20Gradually%20add%20sugar%20and%20the%20vanilla%20and%20continue%20to%20whisk%20to%20stiff%20peaks.%20Don%E2%80%99t%20over%20whip.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EArpante,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ebaked,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecake,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Edessert,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Egreen%20tea,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Egreen%20tea%20powder,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EItalian,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ematcha%20powder,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMele%20Cotte,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Erecipe,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eswiss%20roll,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eswiss%20roll%20cake,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ewhipped%20cream%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
