About me
I'm a 69 yr. old great grandmother of three. I'm on a lifetime, acid/alkaline balance, food-combining diet. I love to read, play the piano, make bead-woven jewelry and, most of all, play with my great grands.
My husband, George, is an excellent cook. He cooks all of the seafood, barbecued ribs and chicken and, the best of all, barbecued pig. His barbecue sauce recipe is famous in our area; everyone wants it, but he won't give it out. I'll post some of his recipes soon.
Of course, I can't eat this kind of food anymore, but I sure do remember how good it tastes.
Cooking Influences
I had to completely change my diet many years ago when I discovered I had severe Candida. The Yeast connection Cookbook saved my life. I went on this diet for two years, never deviating from the suggested menus and recipes. It was very hard at first, but now I love eating this way because it makes me feel good. The type of food you eat is a prerequisite for a healthy body. I will always have Candida, but can keep it under control with diet and exercise.
I am a vegetarian. There's nothing better than walking in my garden and picking tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, beans, green peppers, etc., and incorporating them in my cooking choices for the day. Isn't food great?

- September 5, 2010I just made lasagna with tofu and it's delicious. It takes a while to put together but is well worth the effort for those that can't eat dairy. It can be made with GF noodles, but I didn't have any at the time. I'll post this recipe soon and I hope someone out there tries it and enjoys it as much as I do. I'm also going to make a bread pudding this AM using GF bread, agave syrup and soy milk. I hope this turns out as bread pudding is one of my all-time favorites.
- July 27, 2010I'm going to try an Indian recipe, Roti Flatbread, tomorrow morning. I'll let you know how it tasts.
