  • TO GRIND TO SMOOTH PASTE

  • Coriander seeds – 2 tablespoons
  • Chana dal (bengalgram) – 1 tablespoon
  • Urad dal – 1 tablespoon
  • Whole red chillies – 3-4 nos.
  • Cumin seeds (jeera) – 1 teaspoon
  • Grated coconut – 1/4 cup
  • Sesame seeds – 1/2 teaspoon
  • FOR THE SEASONING/TEMPERING
  • Cooking oil – 1 teaspoon
  • A pinch of asafoetida (hing)
  • Mustard seeds – 1/2 teaspoon
  • 1 string of curry leaves
