Andrew’s sister Lauren is never one to run out and spend a fortune on food. So it came as a surprise to me when she extolled the virtues of a $9.00 tin of Curry Powder. Of course, it was not just any curry powder. It was Vadouvan French Curry Blend. It would be easy to describe Vadouvan as the French equivalent of good old British Curry Powder known in our house as Madras Curry Powder. That doesn’t really do it justice. The French, it turns out, had a Colony in India called Pondicherry. It’s located in the very southern part of India on the Coromandel Coast of the Indian Ocean.
