Ingredients
- 4 c. flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 c. brown sugar
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1 c. dark corn syrup
- 1 Tbsp. soda
- 2 c. boiling water
Directions
- Mix together the flour, salt, brown sugar and shortening like pie dough and reserve 1 c. of crumbs for topping.
- Mix syrup, water, and soda before adding to the crumbs. Grease and dust with flour a 9x13-inch cake pan. Spread batter proportionately into pan and top with the 1 c. remaining crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 min.
