Mont let saung is another snack that is made from tear drop rice shake, some tapioca(optional), coconut milk and the plum sugar syrup. The syrup is both sweet as well as having a surprisingly refreshing taste. It is the favorite drink amongst of all the kids and adult alike. Traditionally often serve in water festival and you will also find in every street corner vendors in during summer season.

Directions

  1. Dough directions
  2. In a sauce pot put 1/4 cup of water and rice flour over medium heat, while constantly stirring. When the liquid dough forms, turn off the heat and scrape all the dough into potato masher. (Get the largest hole)
  3. Squeeze into a bowl of cool water. Let it drain and the drink is ready to be assembled. Traditionally the dough look like tear drops.
  4. Syrup direction
  5. Place 2 cups of water on high heat and place 6tbs of plum sugar in the water. When all plum sugar pieces have melted, turn off the heat and let it cool.
  6. Drink assembles:
  7. Combine 1/2 cup of coconut milk, 1 cup plum sugar syrup, rice drops. Enjoy!
