Pear Walnut Salad Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. Oil
  • 3 Tbsp. White or possibly cider vinegar
  • 1/4 c. Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Celery seed
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 4 c. Torn lettuce
  • 1 x Pear, cored and sliced or possibly minced
  • 1/4 c. Toasted walnut halves*
  • 2 ounce Blue cheese, crumbled

Directions

  1. In jar with tight-fitting lid, combine all dressing ingredients; shake till well blended and sugar is dissolved. Chill to blend flavors.
  2. Just before serving, arrange salad ingredients on individual salad plates, or possibly combine all salad ingredients in large bowl. Pour dressing over salad.
  3. Tip: To toast walnuts, spread on cookie sheet. Bake at 375 F for 3 to 5 min or possibly till golden, stirring occasionally. Or possibly spread in thin layer in microwave-safe pie pan. Microwave on High for 3 to 4 min or possibly till light golden, stirring frequently.
  4. Yield: 4 servings
