- Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles (Recipe from Baked Perfection)
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1/4 cup margarine, melted
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup miniature chocolate chips
- 8 oz (approximately 1/2 package) chocolate candy melts or 8 oz chocolate and 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup assorted color candy melts for decorating

.%20Don%E2%80%99t%20get%20me%20wrong,%20I%20ate%20quite%20a%20few,%20and%20these%20are%20worth%20making%20as%20is.%20However,%20I%20know%20they%20can%20be%20even%20better%20so%20next%20time%20I%20will%20convert%20my%20favorite%20recipe%20to%20be%20egg%20free%20and%20use%20it%20instead.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20original%20recipe%20calls%20for%20chocolate%20candy%20melts%20for%20the%20coating,%20but%20I%20prefer%20to%20use%20real%20chocolate.%20I%20added%20a%20bit%20of%20vegetable%20oil%20to%20melted%20dark%20chocolate%20to%20%E2%80%9Cfake%20temper%E2%80%9D.%20This%20only%20works%20if%20serving%20them%20within%20a%20few%20hours,%20because%20after%20a%20day%20they%20will%20start%20to%20bloom.%20If%20making%20them%20more%20than%20a%20day%20in%20advance%20either%20temper%20real%20chocolate%20or%20use%20the%20candy%20melts.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20large%20bowl,%20cream%20together%20the%20peanut%20butter,%20margarine,%20brown%20sugar,%20and%20vanilla%20until%20well%20blended.%20Combine%20the%20flour%20and%20salt;%20stir%20into%20creamed%20mixture.%20Mix%20in%20chocolate%20chips.%20Roll%20the%20mixture%20into%20quarter%20size%20balls%20and%20lay%20on%20cookie%20sheet%20lined%20with%20wax%20paper.%20Chill%20for%20several%20hours%20or%20freeze%20for%2015-20%20minutes%20until%20firm.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMelt%20candy%20melts%20in%20the%20microwave%20per%20directions%20on%20package%20(30%20sec%20intervals,%20stirring%20in%20between%20each%20interval).%20It%20using%20chocolate%20melt%20it%20at%2050%25%20power%20in%20the%20microwave,%20stirring%20every%20minute%20until%20smooth.%20Once%20it%20is%20melted%20stir%20in%20the%20oil.%20Gently%20dip%20the%20cookie%20dough%20ball%20in%20the%20coating,%20letting%20any%20excess%20drip%20off.%20Place%20on%20wax%20paper%20to%20dry.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETo%20decorate%20with%20drizzled%20chocolate,%20place%20chocolate%20in%20a%20sandwich%20bag%20on%20a%20microwave%20safe%20dish%20and%20microwave%20in%2030%20second%20intervals%20moving%20the%20chocolate%20around%20between%20each%20interval.%20Using%20scissors,%20cut%20the%20very%20tip%20off%20the%20sandwich%20bag.%20Use%20the%20sandwich%20bag%20to%20pipe%20the%20chocolate%20back%20and%20forth%20over%20the%20cookie%20dough%20truffle%20until%20you%20reach%20the%20desired%20look.%20Return%20to%20wax%20paper%20to%20dry.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecandy,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecookie%20dough,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Epeanut%20butter,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Etruffles%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
