  1. Be sure all ingredients and tools are Cool!
  2. 1. Combine flour and salt; cut in shortening till mix resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. 2. Gradually add in water, tossing with fork till a ball forms.
  4. 3. On a floured surface, roll pastry into rectangle. Place over filling, cut slits in top. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar.
