Ingredients

  • 1 c. Butter
  • 3 tsp Baking pwdr
  • 2 c. Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 3/4 c. Fresh orange juice
  • 1 x Orange, grated rind of
  • 3 c. Flour, sifted
  • 5 x Large eggs, room temp
  • 1 c. Butter, melted
  • 1/3 c. Bourbon
  • 2/3 c. Sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 . Grease and flour a tube pan. Cream butter till fluffy. Beat in sugar till light. Beat in one egg at a time. Sift dry ingredients together and add in to creamed mix alternately with orange juice.
  2. Add in grated rind. Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour or possibly till tested done. Remove from oven to rack. GLAZE: While cake is baking, make glaze by heating butter and sugar till sugar is dissolved. Add in bourbon.
  3. Leave cake in pan and pour glaze over warm cake. Leave in pan till thoroughly cooled. Freezes well.
