Ingredients

  • 5 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 3 ½ cups high fiber macaroni (see note above for other types)
  • 1 ½ cups chicken broth or water
  • 2 cups 1% milk
  • ½ tsp salt (or more, to taste)
  • Additional ¼ - ¾ cup 1% milk if needed
  • 2 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Chopped green onions
