Mom's Taffy Caramel Candy Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. white syrup
  • 1 1/2 c. cream
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  •     nuts of choice, optional

Directions

  1. Bring brown sugar, white syrup and 1/2 c. cream to a rolling boil, then add in 1/2 c. cream, bring to a rolling boil again and add in another 1/2 c. cream, boil until it is a "soft ball" on candy thermometer. Then take off stove and add in butter and vanilla. Add in nuts of your choice and pour into greased pan. When cold, cut in squares and dip in chocolate.
