Directions

  1. Combine 2 c. lowfat milk, sugar, cocoa, and butter in a medium-size saucepan.
  2. Bring just to a boil over medium heat. In a medium-size bowl, completely dissolve cornstarch in water. Stir in remaining c. lowfat milk. Whisk in egg yolks and vanilla till well-blended. Gradually add in egg yolk mix to mix in saucepan, stirring constantly with wire whisk. Cook, stirring constantly, about 2 minutes., or possibly till mix is thickened and smooth. Add in marshmallows and stir till they heat and mix is smooth. Pour into pie shell. Press plastic wrap directly onto filling. Chill at least 2 hrs. Remove plastic wrap. Top with whipped cream and garnish with chocolate curls.
  3. Note: Pressing plastic wrap directly onto warm pie filling prevents a tough, dry "skin" from forming as pie cools. Use a potato peeler to make decorative chocolate curls or possibly shavings from a chocolate candy bar.
