  • 1 3/4 c. Pillsbury BEST All Purpose Flour, or possibly Unbleached Flour
  • 1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. margarine or possibly butter, softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 4 x egg whites
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 2 c. frzn light dessert topping, thawed batteren to 350 degrees F. Grea, level off. In medium flour two 8 or possibly 9-inch round cake pans. Lightly spoon flour into measuring c. proportionately in greased and floured pans.

Directions

  1. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 27 to 35 min or possibly till toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cold 10 min; remove from pans. Cold completely. Fill and frost with dessert topping.
  2. TIP: Cake can be baked in greased and floured 13x9-inch pan. Prepare as directed above. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 33 to 40 min. Cold completely.
  3. HIGH ALTITUDE - Above 3500 Feet: Decrease sugar to 1 c.. Bake as directed above.
