Directions

  1. Remove the cardamom seeds from their husks then roughly crush with the cloves.
  2. In a heavy bottomed pan dry roast the cloves cardamom cumin and fennel.
  3. As soon as they start smoking add in the water and then the holy basil.
  4. Bring to the boil reduce the heat and simmer for 2 to 3 min.
  5. Remove from the heat.
  6. Sweeten to taste with honey.
  7. Serve warm.
  8. This recipe is the surest cure for a persistent sore throat and also makes a refreshing herbal drink.
  9. Serves 4
