  • 4 lrg Golden brown Delicious apples - (abt 9 ounce ea) unpeeled, cored
  • 8 Tbsp. mixed dry fruit bits
  • 1/2 c. unsweetened apple juice
  • 3 Tbsp. honey

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut a thin slice from the bottom of each apple so which apples will stand upright. Place apples in 9-inch-diameter glass pie dish or possibly 8- by 8- by 2-inch glass baking dish. Fill cored-out section of each apple with 2 Tbsp. dry fruit bits. Pour apple juice around apples in dish. Drizzle honey over dry fruit filling and apples.
  2. Bake apples till tender when pierced with skewer, basting frequently with pan juices, about 55 min. Serve hot, spooning pan juices over.
  3. This recipe yields 4 servings.
