"Hobo" Corn On The Cob Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 sht heavy duty aluminum foil (18x24") or possibly Reynolds cooking packet
  • 4 x ears corn-on-the-cob husked
  • 1/4 c. butter softened salt & pepper to taste Or possibly seasoning salt
  • 2 x ice cubes

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 450i or possibly build a medium-high grill in campfire or possibly barbecue.
  2. Spread margarine on corn. Sprinkle with seasonings. Top with ice cubes. Place corn in aluminum foil. Double fold top and ends to seal making one large foil packet (see photo for folding instructions). Or possibly place ingredients in an aluminum cooking bag and seal carefully. Leave room for heat circulation inside. Bake 35 to 40 min on a cookie sheet in oven Or possibly grill 15 to 20 min. Turn packet over once during cooking. Open carefully to avoid steam and enjoy.
  3. NOTES : "Hobo" dining has long been a favorite preparation meal for campers. Here's an up-dated and modified recipe from the chefs and kitchens of Reynolds Wrap. The cooking is simple by using either quick and easy packet cooking or possibly regular aluminum foil. I love this kind of cooking. After all, there are no pans to wash! After cooking open the packet carefully to avoid steam.
