  • 2-4 c. pureed fruit such as applesauce, peaches or possibly combination of fruits such as apples and raspberries
  • Sugar, corn syrup or possibly honey

Directions

  1. Sweeten pureed fruit to taste. Remember than flavor becomes concentrated when dry. Line a jelly roll pan or possibly baking sheet with plastic wrap. You may need to dampen sheet so the plastic sticks to it. Spread pureed fruit 1/4 inch thick evenly on sheet. Dry in a food dehydrator or possibly oven set to 120-150 degrees about 12-24 hrs. When the leather feels tacky it is ready to eat.If you like, peel plastic off back of leather and dry till which side is tacky. Leather may be cut into shapes with a sharp knife or possibly cookie cutter. You can also wrap pcs of dry fruit with the sticky side of the leather. Vegetable leathers can be made in the same way. These can be eaten as a snack or possibly reconstituted for tomato sauce or possibly instant soup.
