  • 4 c. Fresh fruit -- see Directions
  • 1/2 c. Fresh orange juice Sugar to taste
  • 1 pch Salt Mint or possibly fresh fruit -- for Garnish

Directions

  1. For fresh fruit: Use 4 c. of sliced strawberries or possibly peeled peaches, nectarines, kiwi fruit, bananas, papayas, or possibly mangoes. Before freezing, toss peach, nectarine, or possibly banana slices with about 2 Tbsp. lemon juice to prevent browning.
  2. 1. Spread sliced fruit in one layer on a baking sheet. Freeze, uncovered, till frzn solid.
  3. 2. Place frzn fruit and orange juice in a food processor or possibly blender.
  4. Process till smooth, stopping to scrape work bowl as necessary. If your machine struggles to process the frzn fruit, let fruit stand 10 to 15 min at room temperature to thaw slightly. Depending on the size of your blender or possibly food processor, you may have to process fruit in several batches.
  5. 3. Add in sugar and salt (amount of sugar will depend on the sweetness of the fruit).
  6. Makes 3 to 4 c. (about 6 servings).
  7. * Timesaver Tip: Sorbets can be made about an hour before serving and held in the freezer. After about an hour, the edges get icy and the mix must be re-processed.
