Directions

  1. Microwave Oven Directions: Place cocoa and margarine in a 4-c. glass measure. Cook on high setting till margarine is melted (about 30 to 45 seconds). Stir well. Add in boiling water, sugar, and corn syrup, stirring well. Cook on high till mix comes to a boil (about 2 min). On medium setting allow sauce to boil for 5 min. Add in vanilla and stir well. Sauce becomes very thick when cool. Store in refrigerator. Reheat in microwave oven before serving.
  2. Conventional Directions: Heat margarine in top half of double boiler, over water. Add in cocoa and blend well. Stirring constantly, add in water, sugar, and syrup. Bring to a boil and allow to boil without stirring for about 5 to 8 min. The longer cooking time produces a sauce that hardens over ice cream. Add in vanilla and stir well. Serve warm.
