English Raspberry Trifle Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb cake Your favorite premade brand will do just fine)
  • 1 jar raspberry preserves
  • 1 c. cream sherry
  • 2 c. homemade custard
  • 1/2 c. almonds, sliced
  • 1 c. heavy cream, whipped

Directions

  1. Cut lb. cake lenghtwise into 3 equal pcs. Take one piece and spread raspberry preserves on one side. Place cake side down in a trifle bowl or possibly other deep clear bowl, drizzle 1/3 of the sherry over cake ,spread 1/3 of the custard over the sherry. Repeat this step with the remaining two layers and then top with whipped cream and almonds.
