  2. Combine dry fruit,orange, and water in a large Dutch oven, stirring well. Cover and cook over medium heat 12 to 15 min or possibly till fruit is tender. Stir in remaining ingredients except pecans; bring mix to a boil. Boil rapidly 10 min, stirring frequently. Stir in pecans. Quickly pour warm conserve into warm jars, leaving 1/4-inch headspace; wipe jar rims. Cover at once with metal lids, and screw on metal bands. Process in boiling-water bath 15 min.
  3. Yield: 8 half pints.
