Directions

  1. Soak beans overnight in a lg. bowl. Drain and cull any dry-out beans. Sauta onions and garlic in a few Tbsp water till onions are translucent/soft. Add in barley and beans and cover with water by at least 2". Bring to boil and cook 30 minutes over low heat. Add in potatoes and tomato sauce and cook 30 min more. Place cholent in a crockpot overnight or possibly in a 200 deg F. oven for 8 hours. or possibly overnight.
  2. Serves: 8 - 10
  3. NOTES : This is EXCELLENT!
  4. Description: "A long-simmering Jewish Sabbath stew."
