Choc Orange Torte With Chocolate Strawberries Recipe

Ingredients

  • 200 gm NESTLE Cooking Chocolate, broken into pcs
  • 125 gm butter, cut into cubes
  • 2 Tbsp. golden brown syrup
  • 250 gm plain sweet biscuit crumbs
  • 1/4 c. minced mixed peel
  • 2 Tbsp. Cointreau or possibly orange juice
  • 1 tsp grated orange rind
  • 1/2 c. NESTLE Dark Melts, up to 1, up to
  • 12 x strawberries, (approximately) Icing sugar, (optional)

Directions

  1. Torte:Line the base of a 20cm round springform cake tin with baking paper.
  2. Place the chocolate, butter and golden brown syrup in a medium saucepan. Cook over a low heat, stirring constantly, till the chocolate and butter heat.
  3. Remove from the heat.
  4. Stir in the biscuit crumbs, mixed peel, Cointreau and orange rind.
  5. Press into the tin, then cover and refrigeratetill the torte is hard.
  6. Chocolate Strawberries:While the torte is chilling, prepare the stawberries.
  7. Place the Melts in a bowl and heat following the packet directions.
  8. Holding the strawberries at the stem end, partially dip into the Melts, then place on a foil-lined tray.
  9. Leave till set, then use immediately or possibly chill and use within 4 hrs.
  10. Remove the torte from the tin.
  11. Place on a serving plate and dust with icing sugar if you like.
  12. Pile the chocolate strawberries on top before serving.
