Chicken Mystery Hot Dish Recipe

• 1/4 c. butter
• 1/4 c. flour
• 1 pt. half and half
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 teaspoon pepper
• 3 c. cubed cooked chicken
• 1 c. chow mein noodles
• 1/2 c. sliced or possibly slivered almonds
• 4 ounce. jar minced pimentos (liquid removed)
• 1 (4 ounce.) can mushroom stems and pcs, liquid removed
• 1 c. sliced celery
• 1 (8 ounce.) can sliced water chestnuts, liquid removed
• 2/3 c. mayonnaise mixed with 1 tbsp. lemon juice
