Ingredients
- 4 quart Plus 2 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. Baking soda
- 30 x Figs, pear tomatoes or possibly apricots
- 1 1/2 c. Granulated sugar
Directions
- In large bowl, combine 4 qts water and baking soda. Add in fruit and soak 10 min. Drain. In large saucepan, combine sugar and 2 c. water. Bring syrup to a boil; add in fruit and simmer 20 min. Remove from heat and allow to cold. Simmer mix 20 min each day till syrup is absorbed.
- Dry fruit on waxed paper on trays in the sun. Dredge fruit with sugar and store in an airtight container.
