Ingredients
- 2 cube steaks, (about 3/4 lb.
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. Vegetable oil
- 1 lrg Onion, sliced thin
- 1/2 tsp Freshly grated orange zest
- 1 x Garlic clove, chopped
- 1/3 c. Low-salt beef broth
- 1 1/2 tsp Soy sauce
Directions
- Pat steaks dry between paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
- In a heavy skillet heat oil over moderately high heat till warm but not smoking and brown steaks. Transfer steaks with tongs to a plate and in drippings remaining in skillet cook onion over moderate heat, stirring, till softened. Stir in zest and garlic and cook till fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add in broth, soy sauce, and steaks and simmer, uncovered, till steaks are tender, about 5 min.
- Serves 2.
