Ingredients
- 1 c. onion, minced
- 2 x cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 1/2 lb grnd chuck
- 1/4 lb Italian sausage
- 8 ounce Vermicelli pasta, cooked
- 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
- 1 can tomato sauce, (15 ounce.)
- 3 1/2 c. tomato juice
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 lb Mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 16 ounce Ricotta cheese
Directions
- Brown onion, garlic, beef, and sausage in a large skillet. Drain grease and add in the tomato sauce and juice, salt, pepper, and oregano. Simmer for 1 hour. (Sauce should thicken considerably.) Cook Vermicelli and drain.
- First, layer 1/2 pasta in a buttered glass dish (9x13). Next, layer 1/2 of the Ricotta cheese, 1/2 Mozzarella cheese, and 1/2 meat sauce. Repeat, and top with Parmesan cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-45 min.
