  1. Rinse beans. Heat beans and water to boiling; boil gently 2 min. Remove from heat; cover and let stand 1 hour. Add in remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling, then reduce heat; cover and simmer for several hrs. Crock pot works great for this. Remove bone before serving.
