Basic Shrimp Stock Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 med Onion, peeled & quartered
  • 1 lrg Clove garlic, peeled and Quartered
  • 1 x Rib celery
  • 2 lb Rinsed shrimp detritus (heads, shells, etc) (of course, include similar "waste parts" from any Other seafood, if you like.)

Directions

  1. Cover ingredients with 2 Qts*cool* water in a large stock pot or possibly saucepan. Bring to boiling over high heat, then lower heat and *gently*
  2. simmer for 4 - 8 hrs, replenishing liquid as required to keep about 1 qt of liquid in the pan. The pot may be left wholly or possibly partially uncovered. Strain, cold and chill till ready to use.
